A Love Letter to Our Customers

A Love Letter to Our Customers

Happy love month! With cupid flying around shooting off arrows, February is the perfect month to pause and reflect on how much love, appreciation and adoration we feel for everyone who has supported our small business since we started a year and a half ago.

I always knew I wanted to start my own business. I grew up bartending at my parents' bar and by the time I hit high school I was hiring employees, launching new products and helping with the books.

But beyond the business know-how and entrepreneurial spirit that those early decades instilled in me, this was the time when I learned customer appreciation and the thrill of building a community.

My dad, still to this day, has always said, "we're nothing without our customers".

Running a business is not an 'if you build it, they will come' situation. Customers have options and it is not lost on me how incredible it is when a customer chooses us.

Whether it's because something about us resonates with you or because you're drawn to the art we create or the coffee we roast, there's some sort of connector that moves you to spend your hard-earned money at our business. It makes me feel proud and grateful and so full of love. Thank you.

Buying a bag of our coffee is more than just a transactional exchange. Month over month, we're seeing our TBD community grow. We're getting to know you and you're getting to know us. We're meeting other small business owners and making friends with other coffee roasters.

We've gone from filling out the legal paperwork and all that boring stuff to gaining a foothold in this industry and with what is quite possibly the coolest niche of a customer base out there.

So I hope each of you knows - We love you. We are grateful for you.

We'll leave you with this cool Super 8 footage Zach captured at one of our early markets in Los Feliz, California. Watching it puts the biggest smile on my face :) Happy Valentine's Day!
